Who am I?
Hi! I’m My Linh, writer of this blog. Who am I in two words? Pharmacist and foodie. Born in the summer of 1990 and raised in The Netherlands. I’m also a daughter, sister, friend and girlfriend. I love food, reading, the gym -most of the time anyway- and travelling (who doesn’t). Just the average stuff. I’ve been told I’m HSP but I don’t believe in giving things names. I prefer alone-time over big parties and have a weird obsession with small serving recipes.
If I could pick one dish to eat for the rest of my life it would probably be one of my dad’s dishes. Whether it’s his beef Pho, bun rieu or com tam bi thit nuong.. I love it all. I’m trying to learn all his recipes but the list is so long.. it might take a while. Meanwhile, try this killer stuffed tofu he taught me. I promise it’s delicious!
Even though savory food is my favorite kind of food, I prefer baking over cooking. Baking is an exact science and when I’m in my recipe-testing-mode I’m totally in my zone (and zoned out). My favorite thing to bake (and eat) is swiss roll cake. It’s such a light but delicious cake. Not too sweet. Just the way I like it.
Finally, favorite drink? Matcha lattes or matcha frappés. Depends if it’s hot or cold outside. Preferably unsweetened. Could wake me up for bubble tea too. Only the real stuff, not the powder kind.
Why did I start blogging?
Writing Temptations is my little hide-out on the web. It’s mainly about food, but I throw in the occasional personal stories too. (Just to keep things interesting.) On this blog you can follow my world of food and dreams. My goal is to entertain people and to inspire to bake and cook more homemade food. By sharing my experiences I hope to show baking and cooking is a matter of trial and error; sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. It’s okay to make mistakes, you learn from them. I try to share a variety of recipes for sweet tooths, savory lovers and I even have a few vegan recipes.
