Moving is so much fun but stressful at the same time too. There are so many things to consider: old furniture, new furniture, packing, unpacking, walls, floor, curtains, time, money.. you name it! Additionally, I’m a stressy person at heart! You can imagine the combination of stressful events and a stressful person to be disastrous xD However, I do try to focus on the positive and trust it’s going to turn out just fine. “I can do this.”
Mindset is key to succes in anything.
For the old furniture, I managed to sell some stuff on “Marktplaats“. You could call “Marktplaats” the Dutch version of eBay. I love how technology makes everything so simple these days. It’s so strong, yet it could be very dangerous too… (Food for thoughts?) Anyhow, I sold my closet and (very old) oven for quite some money on this site. We decided on a new closet, because the old one just couldn’t fit the clothes of both of us. I’m not sure if that says anything about our closet or about the amount of clothes.. You guys decide, okay? :’) Anyway, with the money we get from the old stuff, we can invest in some new proper furniture.
Selling your old stuff is really ideal for some extra cash.
As for the new furniture, we are still looking for a new dining table. I’m starting to think we might be too picky hahaha ^^” We did order a new oven though! I’m seriously so excited! It’s not the best and the fanciest by far, but this Siemens oven is the first “real” proper oven I own. Besides, it’s the baker that determines the result, right? I have gazillion and one ideas and gazillion and two recipes from my favorite bake-bloggers I’m dieing to try! Delicious baked goodies, here I come! (Anyone in for a major high tea at my place? :P)
Although I feel like there are still so many things to be taken care of, we’re actually doing quite fine. I keep track of things “to-do” on the tasks list on my tablet. Even when I think I got all the tasks in my head, a list can give some support and clarity; it takes quite some pressure away. Who doesn’t become more productive with a clear mind? So, my tip for today: if you’re planning or organizing and have a cluttered mind, try to put some time in a proper task list. I’m sure it will help. ^^
How do you guys keeps things organized?
P.S My posts are lacking photo’s of my own, because I’m in the middle of moving. As soon as we’ve settled (aka unpacked all boxes) I’ll add some more eye-candy to my posts 😉
