Smooth coconut jam with a hint of pandan. This Asian jam is also known as “Kaya”. You can spread this sweet coconut jam on toast or stuff it in a pao.
Are you a fan of sweet spreads on bread?
If the answer is yes, you should definitely try today’s recipe! I already shared a recipe on coconut jam a while back, but my dad’s gf taught me a much simpler version with only four ingredients and I just had to share it with you guys. This coconut jam is sweet, thick and creamy. Exactly like it’s supposed to be but without the addition of thickening agents. Once you’ve tried this, you’ll be craving for more. Read more
Soft basic sponge cake filled with plenty of Chantilly cream (sweet vanilla whipped cream) and fresh sweet strawberries. Perfect as a birthday cake. For best results, make this cake when strawberries are in season.
Meet my strawberry and cream birthday cake. Okay, calling it a birthday cake is a bit weird because basically any cake can be a birthday cake. However, this type of cake reminds me of birthdays which is why I call it a “birthday” cake. You can just call it “cake” though 😉 Also, this cake is probably my favorite kind of cake: A fluffy sponge with creamy, light whipping cream. As I’ve mentioned before, buttercream is not really my cup of tea. Whipping cream is totally up my alley though (although my lactose intolerance doesn’t really agree lol). And my bf.. he is even more in love with whipping cream. He’d marry it if he could lmao. (I wish I was kidding.) So if you’re anything like me/us, this cake is going to rock your world.
Soft vanilla sponge, decorated with light and fluffy matcha whipping cream. The cream is the perfect balance between bitter and sweet. Suitable for all matcha lovers.
Okay, can I just express how proud I am of this cake? It’s a simple, small cake, but the taste is amazing. If you love matcha as much as I do, this cake is right up your alley! Even my boyfriend, who isn’t much of a matcha fan, loved this cake. It has just the right amount of bitter green tea and sweet sugar. In addition, the cake looks gorgeous and serves a small crowd (2-3 people). There is no better cake for real matcha lovers. You only need a simple sponge and green tea whipped cream. The latter might sound fancy, but it takes just three ingredients.
Delicious licht and creamy pastry cream or crème diplomat. Ready in seconds! Super easy and so much better than the store-bought stuff.
The weather in the Netherlands has been cooling down this week. I don’t mind though: a little cold weather will make you appreciate the sun a bit more -I know, that’s deeeppp-. In addition, we’ve had some beautiful days last week. I think we even got over 22 C! What did you guys do last week? In this house, we enjoyed the sun on our little balcony. Dinner on the balcony every.day, while enjoying a… glas of cold water (cause I don’t do wine 🍷) haha… The good life though.
Super adorable cupcakes for “gender reveal” occasions. Filled with pink or blue and topped with a pink/blue swirled frosting. Easy cupcakes with a big wow-factor. Promise.
Hello sweethearts! What’s up? We’re halfway summer already. I say this so often, but: time flies. Did you guys make the most of it yet? I’ve been working, but enjoying the (few) sunrays too
because of Pokemon Go. A few weeks ago, I went to my friends’ birthday party. As a surprise, her boyfriend had secretly ordered a gender reveal cake (she’s pregnant of their second child). I thought this was SO sweet as he really made an effort to contact a bakery and tried to find someone to make a gender reveal cake; a gender reveal cake is not very common over here in The Netherlands. Unfortunately, the cake turned out to be horrible: Read more
