When it comes to physical activity, I can mostly be found at the gym. I’m not much of a runner and when it comes to cycling.. well, let’s just say my bike has had a flat tire for about two years now and I haven’t felt any motivation to get it fixed. Really, none. Anyway, there are a lot of girls at the gym nowadays. A lot of them do weight lifting. The majority of the weight lifting group is still male, but to shine some light onto the ladies I thought it would be nice to share five inspirational fitgirls at my gym. These are not girls that inspire me to become more bulky, get a bigger ass or drink gallons of protein shakes. No, these are girls that inspire me in life. They might not know it, by I feel inspired by the small things they do. Read more
It’s Monday evening and I’m writing up this week’s Friday post. This is not my usual stuff. Weekends have been hectic lately, so I had to move some things around in my schedule. This weekend won’t be any different. My boyfriend’s friends are coming over for gamenight and I have to attend a party this weekend (poor me). In addition, I have a test Monday, so I’ll be studying my ass off in between. I have to pass this one. If time will let me, I’m hoping to get some baking and cooking done too. Gotta have my relaxation time, right? 😉 How about you guys? Got any exciting plans?
In The Netherlands, we’re still enjoying days of snow at the moment. I must admit I’m already looking forward to summer. We’ve been looking for a new destination for this summer, but haven’t been able to make a decision just yet. We’re (read: I’m) not sure what we want. All sun and just beach, a cultural trip or a bit of both? Decisions, decisions. I don’t know. Luckily, there are still a couple of months left to decide. Have you decided on summer vacation yet?
Anyway, let’s get back on topic. As you all know, I’m dedicating a few posts to new year’s (food) resolutions this month. I shared my secrets on making resolutions stick, gave you inspiration for healthy food ánd posted a recipe for this AMAZING healthy Chinese steamed cake. The only “bad” thing I shared this month so far is this finger-licking-good-recipe for Strawberry Lava Chocolate Cake. The lava cake doesn’t coun’t though as it’s meant for Valentines day, which is in February. So technically January is still “healthy”. Right? 😉 To keep us on track, I’m sharing 15 recipes for healthy dinners today. Healthy, but delicious dinners! And don’t worry, I’ve taken into account that many of you have a busy schedule. Another Monday, another week to make awesome things happen! What’d you guys do last week? Me and my boyfriend went indoor sky-diving last weekend. I got him the sky-diving for his birthday. I’m not much of an adventurous person, but I must admit sky-diving was quite awesome. Okay, the first two-sessions I bounced around with no control, but by the third and fourth session I sort-of got the hang of it. You should definitely try it out sometime! It’s not as scary as it looks. Promise! ^^
Anyway, in a few weeks it’s Valentine’s Day. Although I don’t “celebrate” Valentine’s Day, I thought it’d be nice to share a couple of recipes with you guys. Just in case you do celebrate Valentine’s Day or in case you just want a delicious dessert 😉 Today, is the first in my series of Valentine’s desserts. And it’s an awesome one: strawberry LAVA chocolate cake. Now, we all know chocolate + strawberries is the perfect combination for Valentine’s day. Turning this combination into a lava cake makes this recipe beyond perfect for Valentine’s day! And you know what? It’s SUPER easy. Not even kidding. Read more
IT IS TIME TO MAKE 2016 YOUR YEAR (if 2015 wasn’t already). As I mentioned before, I’m not much of a fan of “New Years resolutions”. I feel like if you want something, you should start it a.s.a.p. instead of waiting until the first of January. However, regardless of my opinion, January is the month of resolutions. Gyms will be stuffed and diet pills will be on sale. There’s nothing we can do about it. And you know what, that’s okay. Because in the end, resolutions are resolutions. It doesn’t matter when you start them, as long as you make them work. So to help you make it happen in 2016, I thought’d be nice to share a few steps to making resolutions stick. Read more

What’s up, guys? What have you been up to lately? Submerged in the holiday spirit, yet? I think my holiday spirit will grow today, as I’ve mostly been working (yes, pharmacists don’t have Christmas breaks). In between I’ve been racking my brain on the perfect Christmas presents for everyone. After weeks of brain torture, I think I finally have a present for everyone. All there’s left is to buy them. That’s right, I still need to buy all my presents. Horrible, right? Today is the day though. Talking about last-minute, huh? ^^” In between working, blogging and going to the gym I just haven’t been able to go for my annual Christmas shopping spree. Funny thing is, Christmas shopping reflects 2015 for me. This year everything’s been a bit less organized and a whole lot more scattered. It’s okay though. I kind of learned to live with it this year. Life’s never perfect and that’s completely fine. Some things are meant to “let go”.
Anyway, the day of Christmas eve has finally arrived! And so has recipe #4 in my series of last-minute edible Christmas gifts (1, 2 and 3). Today must be the easiest recipe yet. Yes, easier than the dark cranberry and coconut bark. It’s possible. You’ll need just two ingredients for this one! Just two! Also, there are just a few steps to making these. Last-minute doesn’t get more perfect than this. Read more
