Watching 90’s movies

I’m a 90’s kid and quite proud of it 😀 On my lazy Sundays, I like to re-watch “old” movies. Cheesy, non-HD quality movies from my childhood. Some of my childhood movies left such an impression that I know them from the top of my head. Others, I find with (long) descriptive google searches :’) Technology now-a-days just makes it super easy to find anything. Really, anything. Anyway, today I’ll be sharing a list of the 90’s movies I watched the past few weeks. I ordered it by year of release, because it was just too difficult to pick a favorite. 😛 Now, these movies aren’t deep meaningful Oscar-winning movies, but they have a special place in my heart. So if you try these, I would love to know if you liked them!

Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)

Robin Williams!! If I HAD to pick a favorite. This one might be it. The funny encounters mixed with the emotions of a truly loving dad.. ♥

Ri¢hie Ri¢h (1994)

This storyline is so bad, but I still love it! It’s a random story about a rich kid bored with his “rich life”  and wanting to be “normal”. Also, his family gets betrayed by a greedy employee and he has to save them. Like I said, no shocker story line, but when I was a kid this was the best movie ever haha….

The Next Karate Kid (1994)

My first karate kid movie! I remember I was so scared watching the final fighting scene was when I was little :’) Also, Mr. Miyagi is simply awesome 😀

The Parent Trap (1998)

Classic twin movie. I love Disney movies. Fun fact: At the time, I had no idea that the twins were played by one single actress (Lindsay Lohan) and I was so surprised when I found out the twins didn’t exist. And yes, I actually closed my eyes at the ear-piercing scene :’)

She’s All That (1999)

Such a cheesy nerdy-girl-turns-gorgeous-gets-hot-guy-to-fall-in-love-with-her-movie. But I love it! I mean, heeeellllooo: FREDDY PRINCE JR, anyone? If I ever have to pick a little-girl crush, it’s him! He’s like 10+ years old, but I don’t care haha… ♥_♥ I’ve watched this movie at least 10 times and I’ll keep watching it. Might even watch it again tonight… ^^

Drive Me Crazy (1999)

Melissa Joan Hart and Adrien Grenier. So I don’t really care much for Adrien Gernier, but Melissa is so awesome. I’ll always know her as Sabrina The Teenage Witch (loved that show btw). I  love her quirky personality 😀 And yes, this is yet another cheesy romantic oh-so-predictable movie but come on… 90’s classic ♥ Besides, the OST is ‘Crazy’ by Britney Spears, one of my favorite songs (and singer) that year! 😉

Have you seen these movies already? What’s your favorite childhood movie?

    1. Ahh die moet je echt zien hoor! Slaat helemaal nergens op, maar wel heel leuk :’) En ja, ik mis de 90’s wel een beetje hihi.. Full House was zó leuk! Was ik écht verslaafd aan. Geen diepzinnige series met een overmaat aan drama, maar gewoon leuk. 😀 PS: Hoop dat t goed gaat met studie!

  2. No 3D movies then like they have nowadays. Yes to Mrs. Doubtfire and she’s all that! Never even seen the Melissa Joan Hart movie, which is crazy cause I watched Sabrina religiously (the thing I did after school). Also never seen that Karate Kid, my first karate movie had to be with Jackie Chan – seen so many with him 🙂

    1. I’ve watched She’s All That way too often hehe.. Just watched Mrs Doubtfire again with my sister the other day. Nostalgia ♥ And I was totally the same with Sabrine; watched it just about everyday :’) When I was little, I secretly hoped I was a “teenage witch” too xD Love Jacky Chan too btw! His movies are even better than Karate Kid. He’s so awesome. Did you know he always does his own stunts?! Most awesome Chinese dude ever. There’s no better martial arts actor than Jackie. ^^

      1. Yeah that is the most amazing thing! Read somewhere that he injured almost every inch of his body over the years doing so though. Just give me a stunt-double =]
